Emily Stanforth, MSN, RN, NEA-BC has been the nurse at the bedside, the informaticist in the implementation room, and the strategist in the executive briefing. That full-spectrum experience is what makes Vekata's work different.
Background
Emily Stanforth, MSN, RN, NEA-BC built her career across the full spectrum of healthcare — from the bedside as a perinatal and NICU nurse, through enterprise analytics and informatics leadership at UCSF Health and large-scale EHR implementation at Epic, to clinical strategy embedded inside commercial and product organizations.
She has built and scaled first-of-its-kind nursing ambient technology from concept to thousands of nurses — with the outcome metrics to show for it. That work required translating clinical reality into product decisions, organizational strategy, and executive narrative simultaneously. It is the same translation Vekata brings to health systems.
The result is a consultant who understands nursing workflow at a level of granularity most informatics and strategy advisors do not reach — and who can connect what happens at the bedside directly to what the CNO needs to present to the board.
Vekata is named after Emily's three kids — Vera, Kaden, and Etta. Based in Madison, WI, she spends her time outside of work outdoors and active with her husband and three kids — the same people who remind her daily why getting healthcare right actually matters.

Nursing is the most underused strategic asset in health systems.
Frontline nurses see every failure point in clinical technology — and most of them never get asked. The organizations that build nursing perspective into their innovation strategy from the start consistently outperform those that retrofit it after go-live. That is not an opinion. It is a pattern that repeats across every system that has tried to skip that step.

Adoption is the only metric that matters.
A roadmap that never gets executed, a technology that gets worked around, a KPI framework that never reaches the board — those are not strategy failures. They are adoption failures. Every engagement I design starts with the same question: what will your team actually use? Everything else follows from that.
